Dom T - You
Dom T is a hip-hop/rap artist based out of LA. In addition to his music career, Dom T’s Instagram also lists Film Director, Photographer and Fashion Blogger as his other creative pursuits, making him a multi-talented individual and teasing his overall creative passion. Today we take a look at Dom T’s new track, “You”, featuring Jag.
“You” is an exceptional hip-hop track and a great introduction to Dom T’s sound. The backing track in “You” features a perfectly-produced beat that enhances Dom T’s flow without stealing the show from Dom T’s rap vocals - the true star of the song. In terms of vocal performance, there is a ton of rich flow as well as a catchy chorus that serves as great ear candy. Lyrically, the track is about liking the same person as your friend, featuring some of the conflict around that situation and strong feelings of lust and desire; it is a relatable message and I am sure that most people have found themselves in a similar situation before.
“You” serves as an expert display of Dom T’s skills. In “You”, it is easy to recognize Dom T’s abilities to rise as a rapper while showcasing his talented lyric writing as he presents a relatable message in an easily accessible way - through a great all around rap track.
