John McDonough - Nowhere Else To Run

John McDonough is a singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas with over five decades of experience under his belt. In the past 25 years he has self-produced eight complete CD’s of original music. Fueled by his passion nine year ago, John retired from psychotherapy and decided to fulfill his dreams of doing music full-time. In that time he recorded five new CD’s and played over 500 gigs. Today we are happy to dive into McDonough’s his new hit “Nowhere Else To Run”.

The beginning of the “Nowhere Else To Run” gives us melancholic vibes as John is met with strings to accompany his guitar to add layers to this tune. “We’re gonna live here forever, there’s nowhere else to run” echoes as the chorus finishes. This song is filled with passion and discusses the feeling of finally finding your place with someone else. John’s experience with songwriting really shines through on this song, and with little words he is able to express emotions by just combining it with a guitar lick that only exemplifies the feelings he is belting out vocally. This song has a sound that reminds me of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” as it sounds nostalgic even if it’s your first time hearing it.

Throughout listening to “Nowhere Else To Run”, I am sure you will find yourself admiring the years of experience that John McDonough has and how that experience translates into the high quality music that he releases.
