Steam Train Hearts - Uncertainty

Steam Train Hearts is an 80’s-inspired Indie Rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Although this band draws inspiration from the sounds of years gone by, their sound is truly distinctive and stands out on its own, thanks to the group’s strong pop sensibilities and strong musicianship. Today we take a listen to Steam Train Hearts’ single, “Uncertainty” from their album Smoke & Cinder.

“Uncertainty” kicks off with a blistering guitar sound that sets up the group’s 80’s-inspired sound while also serving to immediately hook the listener in. This track’s verses do an excellent job of setting up the chorus, which I found extremely catchy and well-crafted. While listening to “Uncertainty”, I found it hard to not be reminded of some of my favorite 80’s bands like The Cure and even The Violent Femmes, though the way in which Steam Train Hearts manages to tame their 80’s inspired sound clearly has distinctive melodic roots that the band can easily claim as their own.

Steam Train Hearts is the kind of music that I really -feel- while listening to and I hope you are able to get that same kind of experience from listening to “Uncertainty”. I really enjoyed this track and was quick to check out some of this band’s other music - as you should also do! You can keep up withSteam Train Hearts through Bandcamp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Be sure to check out “Uncertainty” embedded below!
