M-Dash ft. Don P Tilt & Mr. Maph - Never Was
M-Dash is a rapper/hip-hop artist who was born and raised in Vallejo, California. A well-seasoned artist, M-Dash has had numerous successful releases throughout his career and has had notable successes in the Northwest, Southwest, Northern California and, interestingly, Japan. Today we take a listen to M-Dash’s single, “Never Was”, which features Don P Tilt and Mr. Maph.
“Never Was” is a flow-filled and surprisingly bouncy sounding hip-hop track. This track features a three-way split on the rap vocals, with M-Dash, Don P Tilt and Mr. Maph splitting the load and bringing a fun level of variance to this track. A catchy chorus serves as solid hook and also splits up each rapper’s individual verse, which I felt was an extremely interesting segue device. In addition to the vocals, the backing track is produced brilliantly and it is extremely engaging; it does an excellent job of really setting the scene for the vocal performances, which are the true star of the show.
Overall, M-Dash really knows how to bring the heat to his music and “Never Was” is no exception to that fact. This artist has a large back catalog of songs to enjoy and his work is definitely worth exploring.
