Joe Macre - When You're Smiling At Me

Joe Macre is an experienced musician, perhaps best known as the original bassist for the Progressive Rock band Crack The Sky. Utilizing his decades of experience, Macre crafts some extremely high quality music that is a joy to listen to. Today we are excited to share our thoughts on Joe Macre’s single, “When You’re Smiling At Me”!

“When You’re Smiling At Me” is a richly textured and overall very powerful song. I love how this song borrows from different decades of music to create a music experience that is extremely unique; there are elements of Rock and Soul that span anything from the 70’s to the 90’s in this song, while also having contemporary production to bring the song together brilliantly. You will want to keep coming back to hear all of the different layers this song has - as well as the different influences.

The way in which Macre combines different sounds from different times is a reflection of his experience and personal tastes; though his favorite artists are primarily older groups, you can hear some of what came after in his music and that makes it all the more special.
