Greg Smith - In the Vicinity of Miracles

Greg Smith is an experienced singer/songwriter with many album releases who is currently based in Savannah, Georgia. In addition to his solo music career, Smith also runs the Pros From Dover website which details many of his other artistic endeavors. One of his latest releases is the single “In the Vicinity of Miracles”, the title track from his latest album In the Vicinity of Miracles.

Right off the bat, dreary and skillful piano sets the mood. Throughout the song, Greg Smith’s soft vocals do a wonderful job of pairing with the backing instrumental; it truly feels like you are living a moment in Smith’s life as he ponders if he’s “the only one one Earth who cannot find the light”. The lyrics further explore this thought as Smith speaks of a world changing around him that he may not have a place in. A beautiful acoustic guitar solo really brings the entire song home, sealing the deep emotions that Smith explores throughout this track. As the track comes to an end it seems as though Smith has made his decision; “in the vicinity of miracles/we step into the light” he declares as the final line of the song.

“In the Vicinity of Miracles” stands as one of the more emotional and explorative songs I have heard recently. If you are as interested as I am in exploring more of Greg Smith’s discography, you can check out his website here or explore any streaming services including Spotify to find more. As per usual, “In the Vicinity of Miracles” is also embedded below.
