Distrxct - Squad
Distrxct is an underground hip-hop artist known for wearing his trademark balaclava. Distrxct does not consider himself a rapper, at least in a traditional sense, thanks to all of the experimentation featured within his sound. We have previously checked out Distrxct’s “Do It To It” and today we are excited to share our thoughts on yet another awesome single, “Squad”!
“Squad” features an aggressive bass-synth sound that gives us a great look at Distrxct’s genre-blending experimental style. Indeed, the backing instrumental for this song absolutely shines as the star of the show while the vocals serve as a hook to draw you in. Truly, “Squad” is one of those songs that you can listen to on loop and get a lot out of. This is the kind of track that I imagine playing at a party or running to, with its unabashedly loud, in-your-face and richly textured nature.
Unsurprisingly, Distrxct impresses again with “Squad”. I really enjoy how this song stands out from others in similar genres and I found this track extremely easy to enjoy overall.
